Claude Certification Cost in 2026: All Four Exam Fees, Plus the Discounts Nobody Mentions
A Claude certification exam costs $99 to $175 in US dollars: $99 for Claude Certified Associate: Foundations (CCAO-F), $125 for Claude Certified Developer: Foundations (CCDV-F) and Claude Certified Architect: Foundations (CCAR-F), and $175 for Claude Certified Architect: Professional (CCAR-P). Partner firms at Select tier and above get 50% off, and Global Premier partners pay nothing through December 31, 2026.
Below is every number: what each exam costs with and without the discount, what a retake really costs, why renewal is free, whether vouchers or promo codes exist, and what the Claude Academy courses cost (nothing).

The 50% discount applies automatically at checkout for partner firms at Select or Preferred tier. Global Premier partners get a 100% discount on all certification exams through December 31, 2026, and the standard 50% after that. Registered tier, which is the free entry level, pays list.
One price has changed. Architect: Foundations cost $99 until June 30, 2026, when Anthropic raised it to $125. Guides that list $99 for it are out of date. Registrations completed before that date kept the old price. What changed on June 30.
One thing to be clear about before you budget: you cannot buy any of these as an individual. Registration requires a company email on a domain recognized by the Claude Partner Network. Joining the network is free, but its application asks for a registered business with 10 or more employees that offers consulting, implementation or managed services. What each exam costs, and what you get for it
Claude Certified Associate: Foundations (CCAO-F), $99. The cheapest and the only one with no coding: 60 questions on using Claude well at work. It is also the only Claude certification that does not count toward your firm’s Partner Network tier. CCAO-F study guide · free CCAO-F practice questions
Claude Certified Developer: Foundations (CCDV-F), $125. 53 questions for engineers who build with the Claude API, tools, agents and MCP. Counts toward partner tier. CCDV-F study guide · free CCDV-F practice questions
Claude Certified Architect: Foundations (CCAR-F), $125. 60 scenario-based questions on agent architecture, Claude Code, MCP and prompt design. The first Claude certification, launched March 12, 2026. Counts toward partner tier. CCAR-F study guide · free CCAR-F practice questions
Claude Certified Architect: Professional (CCAR-P), $175. 63 questions on enterprise-scale design, integration, evaluation and governance. No prerequisite, but it costs the most to fail. Counts toward partner tier. CCAR-P study guide · free CCAR-P practice questions
Every exam is 120 minutes, needs a scaled score of 720 (on a 100 to 1,000 scale) to pass, and is delivered by Pearson VUE online or at a test center. Not sure which to buy? All four Claude exams compared, or for the two architect exams, the Claude Certified Architect guide.
Your registration is good for five years
This is the most useful and least-known detail. Once you purchase an exam, Anthropic’s FAQ says the registration is valid for five years and you can schedule and take it any time in that window. Its policies page goes further and says there is no deadline for sitting the exam.
So buying and sitting are separate decisions. If a discount is running, buying now and studying later costs you nothing.
What a retake costs
The full exam fee, every time. There is no separate retake discount, but your partner tier discount applies to retakes the same way it applies to a first attempt.
There are also waiting periods, and they escalate:
- 14 days after your first failure
- 30 days after your second
- 90 days after your third
- Maximum four attempts per exam per rolling twelve months
The limits apply to each exam separately and reset when an exam moves to a new version. If you pass, you can’t pay to retake it for a higher score.
At Registered tier, which pays list, two failed attempts at Architect: Professional is $350 ($175 at Select or Preferred). That is more than the cost of doing the twelve hours of official prep first, which is free.
Renewal is free, if you do it on time
Claude certifications last twelve months. Renewal costs nothing: before you expire, you pass an open-book, non-proctored assessment on the Partner Academy, which you can retake as often as you need, and it adds twelve months to your current expiry date.
Let it lapse and you pay full price for the full proctored exam again. This is the most avoidable expense in the whole program. Set a reminder at month ten. More on renewal here.
What you do not pay for
- Partner Network membership. Free.
- The exam guides. Free PDFs with the full blueprint, domain weights and sample questions.
- The prep courses. Anthropic’s Partner Academy prep paths are free for partners, and Claude Academy (academy.claude.com), Anthropic’s public course catalog, is free for anyone.
- Rescheduling or cancelling, if you do it far enough ahead. Anthropic’s certification FAQ and policies say to cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your appointment, and a cancellation in that window gets a full refund. The v1.0 exam guides still say 24 hours, so plan for 48.
Claude course fees: Claude Academy is free
If you searched for Claude Academy pricing or a Claude certification course fee, the answer is $0. Claude Academy courses such as Claude 101, Claude Code 101 and Building with the Claude API are free with a free Claude account, and passing a course’s quizzes earns a completion badge that doesn’t expire.
Those badges are not the certification. Anthropic’s own Academy FAQ is clear that the paid, proctored Claude certification exams are a separate program, open only to partners. More free options in free AI certifications.
Claude certification vouchers and promo codes: none yet
Anthropic describes a voucher storefront as in progress, where partners would buy in bulk with discounts applied and track usage centrally. It does not exist today.
There are no published promo codes either. The partner discount applies on its own at checkout, so there is no code to look for.
If a site offers you a Claude certification voucher code or a free exam pass, it is not selling you anything Anthropic recognizes. What partners actually get is covered in Claude certification vouchers and partner discounts.
