AI jobs with no experience

The easiest way in is AI training work: writing prompts and model answers, rating chatbot replies, labeling data or checking translations. Platforms pay by the hour, and you choose when you work. Requirements vary a lot. Some general projects take students, while expert projects ask for a degree or license in the field. Our AI training jobs page compares what each platform pays, who it hires and how it pays, quoted from the platforms’ own sites.

If you want a salaried job, look at the non-engineering teams at AI companies: customer support, sales development, operations and recruiting. They hire for the same skills as anywhere else, and knowing the product helps you stand out. Filter our remote AI jobs board by team and tick “No coding needed”, or browse contract and freelance roles.

How to spot an entry-level posting

  • Title words that usually mean entry level: associate, coordinator, representative, specialist, junior, intern, new grad.
  • Words that usually mean senior: senior, staff, principal, lead, manager, director.
  • Read the requirements, not just the title. “2 or more years” can still be worth a try if you match most of the rest.
  • Apply to several roles at once. Our boards update hourly, so new roles appear every day.

Watch out for fake AI job offers

“AI training” is a popular cover for job scams. Be wary of any offer that asks you to pay for training or equipment, moves you to a chat app right away, or asks for bank details before you have a contract. Paste any offer into our free job scam checker before you reply.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get an AI job with no experience?

Yes. AI training work, such as rating chatbot answers, writing model answers and labeling data, often needs no AI experience. AI companies also hire for support, sales development and operations, where your existing skills matter more than AI knowledge.

Do entry-level AI jobs require coding?

Many do not. AI training, data annotation, customer support, sales and coordinator roles need no coding. Junior AI engineering roles and internships do.

Are entry-level AI jobs remote?

Many are. AI training work is almost always remote, and our remote AI jobs board lists remote staff roles at AI companies, including ones with no coding in the title.

How much do entry-level AI jobs pay?

It depends on the job. AI training platforms post hourly rates that vary by project, skills and country, and staff roles list salary ranges in many postings. The matcher shows posted pay next to each live opening where the employer publishes it.

How do I avoid AI job scams?

Be wary of any offer that asks you to pay for training or equipment, moves you to a chat app right away, or asks for bank details before a contract. Check the offer with our free job scam checker first.
