đź“… The 20-minute Friday

1. Wrap up the week. Paste your notes, a few sent emails or this week’s calendar into ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot, and ask for a status update in four parts: done, in progress, blocked, next week. Five lines, ready to send.
2. Clear the inbox. Pick the three emails you’ve been dodging. My free email reply writer drafts each one: paste the email and say what you want to say back. Long thread or report? The free summarizer gives you the gist first.
3. Plan Monday. Give the AI your open to-dos and next week’s calendar. Ask it to pick your top three for Monday, flag anything due, and point out the meetings that need prep.
4. Put it on repeat. Set it up once as a scheduled task and it runs every Friday on its own. Here’s how.

⏰ Put your Friday on autopilot
ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot can all run a prompt on a schedule now and send you the result. Set it for Friday at 2 PM and your wrap-up is waiting when your last meeting ends.
ChatGPT: just ask it, for example “Every Friday at 2 PM, draft my weekly status update.” The task shows up under Scheduled and can alert you by push notification or email. It works on every plan, including Free (up to 3 tasks), but Free runs in a rough window like “afternoon”. An exact time needs a paid plan.

Claude: on any paid plan, open Scheduled in the sidebar and create a weekly task, and your phone gets a notification when it’s done. If the task runs on your computer, it only runs while the computer is awake and online, so leave it on or turn on Keep awake.

Microsoft 365 Copilot: if your company gives you Copilot, hover over a prompt in Copilot Chat and choose Schedule this prompt. The answer lands in your Copilot chats, with an optional email heads-up. Since it already sees your Outlook and Teams, it’s the easiest way to get a wrap-up of your real week.
One catch: a scheduled task can only summarize what it can see. Connect your email and calendar first, or have the task ask you for your notes.
🎯 Try this: your Friday wrap-up task
Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot. Run it once by hand to see what you get, then tell it to repeat every Friday at 2 PM.
“Help me close out my week. 1) Turn what I did this week into a 5-line status update for my manager: done, in progress, blocked, next week. 2) List the emails I still owe a reply. 3) Pick my top 3 priorities for Monday. If you can’t see my email or calendar, ask me to paste my notes first.”
Read the status update before you send it. AI gets the shape right faster than it gets every detail right.

Frequently asked questions
Can ChatGPT run a task automatically every Friday?
Yes. Ask it in plain words, for example "Every Friday at 2 PM, draft my weekly status update." The task shows up under Scheduled and can alert you by push notification or email. The Free plan allows up to 3 tasks and runs them in a rough window such as "afternoon"; an exact time needs a paid plan.
Does Claude have scheduled tasks?
Yes, on any paid plan. Open Scheduled in the sidebar and create a weekly task, and your phone gets a notification when it's done. A task that runs on your computer only runs while the computer is awake and online, so leave it on or turn on Keep awake.
Can Microsoft 365 Copilot schedule a prompt?
Yes, if your company gives you Copilot. Hover over a prompt in Copilot Chat and choose Schedule this prompt. The answer lands in your Copilot chats, with an optional email heads-up, and Copilot already sees your Outlook and Teams.
What if the AI can't see my email or calendar?
A scheduled task can only summarize what it can see. Connect your email and calendar first, or have the task ask you to paste your notes. Either way, read the status update before you send it.
