Looking for an AI bio generator that doesn’t make things up? This free professional bio generator turns a few facts about your work into polished bios for LinkedIn, a speaker page, your website or X, in seconds. Pick the length and the voice, and you get three different versions with character counts and copy buttons.
It builds each bio from standard bio structures right in your browser, so it is instant, private and never adds a claim you didn’t give it. If you want an AI to smooth the wording, one click copies a ready-made prompt for ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini that tells it to keep your facts as they are.

Character limits: LinkedIn says the About section holds up to 2,600 characters (LinkedIn Talent Blog) and X says a bio can be up to 160 characters (X Help Center), both checked October 18, 2026. The bios are built from writing templates in your browser, not by an AI model, so they only use the facts you enter.
How to use the bio generator
- Enter your name, job title and years of experience. Add your field, two or three specialties and who you help.
- Add one or two achievements, each starting with a past-tense verb (led, grew, built). A real number makes the biggest difference.
- Pick where the bio goes (LinkedIn About, speaker bio, website or X), the length and first or third person.
- Copy the option you like best, or copy the AI polish prompt to refine it in your favorite chatbot.
What makes a good professional bio
Most strong bios answer the same five questions, in roughly this order:
- Who you are: your name, role and where you work.
- What you know: your years of experience, your field and two or three specialties.
- Who you help: the people or teams you work with, and what you help them do.
- Proof: one specific achievement, ideally with a number.
- A human touch: a credential, where you’re based or an interest outside work, for longer bios.
The generator follows this formula, so the more of these you fill in, the better the result. If you only have a minute, prioritize specialties, who you help and one achievement.
Bio length by platform
| Where it goes | Official limit | What works |
|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn About section | 2,600 characters | First person, 3 to 6 sentences, end with an invitation to connect |
| X (Twitter) bio | 160 characters | Short fragments: role, specialties, one hook |
| Speaker bio | Set by each event | Third person, 50 to 120 words, plus the topics you speak on |
| Website About page | None | Third person for a company site, first person for a personal site |
The two limits come from LinkedIn and the X Help Center. Event organizers usually tell you their word count, so check the speaker kit before you submit.
First person or third person?
Use first person (“I help…”) where you talk directly to people: your LinkedIn About section, X and a personal website. Use third person (“Maya helps…”) when someone else introduces you: speaker bios, conference programs, company team pages and press releases. Pick one voice and stay in it for the whole bio.
Professional bio examples
These are made-up examples from the generator, so you can see the formula at work.
Short, third person (speaker): Priya Nair is a staff software engineer at Acme Cloud with 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure. Her talks cover platform engineering, Kubernetes, and developer experience.
Medium, first person (LinkedIn): I help local restaurants and shops keep their books clean and their taxes on time. As a founder and lead bookkeeper at Clear Ledger Bookkeeping, I bring 6 years of small business finance experience and a focus on bookkeeping, cash flow planning, and catch-up accounting. Along the way, I grew the practice from one client to 40, mostly by referral. Let’s connect if you’re thinking about bookkeeping or cash flow planning.

Frequently asked questions
How long should a professional bio be?
It depends on where it goes. Two sentences work for event programs and social profiles, while LinkedIn's About section allows up to 2,600 characters and an X bio up to 160.
Should a professional bio be in first or third person?
Use first person where you speak for yourself, like LinkedIn and X. Use third person when someone else introduces you, like speaker bios, company team pages and press releases.
What should I include in a professional bio?
Your name and role, your years of experience and field, two or three specialties, who you help, and one achievement with a number. Longer bios can add a credential, where you are based and an interest outside work.
Is this an AI bio generator?
It builds bios from writing templates in your browser, so it is instant, free and never adds facts you did not give it. To have an AI polish the wording, use the Copy an AI polish prompt button with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.
Is my information saved or sent anywhere?
No. The bio generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
