This free AI quiz generator turns your notes, or a PDF, into multiple-choice practice questions with the reasoning behind every answer. Five questions at a time need no sign-up, and every question comes from your own material, not the internet.
Re-reading your notes feels like studying, but it mostly is not. What moves knowledge into your head is being asked a question you cannot answer straight away, then finding out why you were wrong.

Turn your notes into practice questions
Paste your notes, or drop in a PDF. You get exam-style multiple-choice questions with the reasoning behind every answer, so you find out what you actually know.
The longer runs cost us money to answer, so this is the trade: your email address, and the HOW TO // AI newsletter once a week. Unsubscribe any time.
Free, no sign-up. We keep nothing you paste in: it goes to the model and comes straight back to you.
How to turn your notes into a quiz
- Paste your notes, a chapter or a study guide into the box, or choose a PDF.
- Pick how many questions. Five are free with no sign-up; 10 or 15 ask for an email address.
- Pick a style: Exam style for short scenarios, or Quick recall for definitions and facts.
- Click Make my questions, commit to an answer for each one, then read the reasoning.
Turning a PDF into a quiz
Choose the PDF and it is read in your browser: the text is pulled out on your own device and only that text is sent to be turned into questions. The file itself is never uploaded.
One limit: a PDF that is a picture of a page, such as a scan, has no text in it to read. If the tool says the file is empty, that is why. Copy the text in by hand, or run the scan through a text-recognition (OCR) tool first.
Exam style or quick recall
Quick recall asks what something is. It is good for vocabulary, definitions and a first pass through new material.
Exam style gives you a short scenario and asks what you would do. It is harder, because knowing a definition does not tell you when to use it. If you are revising for an exam, start with recall and switch to exam style a week in. The gap between your two scores shows what you have memorized but cannot apply yet.
Why every answer comes with reasoning
A right answer on its own teaches you little. What teaches you is why the option you nearly picked is wrong, because that is where the misunderstanding lives. Every question explains both in a sentence or two.
Questions are written only from your notes, so if an explanation says something your material does not, you have found either a gap in your notes or a weak question. Both are worth knowing.
Limits and privacy
- Free: four quizzes per person a day. Five questions per quiz need no sign-up; 10 or 15 ask for an email address, which also signs you up for the HOW TO // AI newsletter.
- Length: up to about 12,000 characters of notes, roughly 2,000 words. Longer material makes sharper questions when you split it by topic.
- Privacy: your notes go to an AI model (Anthropic’s Claude) to write the questions, and nothing is kept or logged at our end. PDFs are read in your browser, never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
How do I turn my notes into a quiz?
Paste your notes or choose a PDF, pick how many questions and a style, and click Make my questions. You get multiple-choice questions written only from your material, each with the reasoning behind the answer.
Is the quiz generator free?
Yes, with no account or card. Each person can make four quizzes a day; five questions per quiz are free with no sign-up, and 10 or 15 need an email address.
Can it make a quiz from a PDF?
Yes, if the PDF contains text. It is read in your browser and only the text is sent, so the file is never uploaded. Scanned PDFs have no text to read.
How much text can I give it?
About 12,000 characters, roughly 2,000 words or a long chapter. Split longer material by topic; the questions come out sharper.
Do you keep my notes?
No. Your text goes to the AI model, the questions come back to you, and nothing is stored or logged at our end.
Can it make questions for an exam I do not have notes for?
No. It only works from what you paste, which stops it testing you on things that are not in your material. For the AI certifications we cover, use our free practice questions instead.
